Experience & About Me:
I have been a qualified instructor since 2013. I retired from teaching at local Milton Keynes school and I decided that I still wanted to teach and what better than becoming a driving instructor. Pupils have appreciated the teaching skills, the calm and patient approach that I have developed over 36 years as a teacher and a this year as a driving instructor.
My first year pass rate was 75%, with the vast majority of students passing with less than 5 minors and one pupil passing with zero minors.
Receiving feedback on a job well done!
“Colin would always make me repeat something until I got it perfect, he is persistent and patient. He helped me so much with my nerves and helped me tackle every situation to improve my driving. I can’t believe how much he built my knowledge and understanding that took me from 25 minors and 5 majors, in my first test, to 4 minors in just 3 weeks!! Thank you.”
“Big thanks to Colin Armstrong… Most patient man on the planet!”

I took my first and only lessons with Colin Armstrong and passed in the first go. Colin has a very friendly, intelligent and logical style of training. It came to a point where I used to look forward to my lessons with him. He was always there before time and would text me to come out when ready. Starting from show me tell me, little nuances of driving, priority roads, one way roads, the absolutely horrifying Bletchley roundabout, reverse parking, bay parking, emergency stops, stopping when it's safe, convenient and legal - we covered it all. On the day of the test, Colin and I had a 1.5 hour class before the test, which made me more confident. We did various mock tests as well, which helped a great deal.
Colin's background as a teacher means his training style is very human (he doesn't have a just get it done and over with personality) and you get to see the reasons behind why the rules are what they are. He is very encouraging and positive when you stop making the mistakes you were initially making.
I'm sure that with Colin you have the best odds of passing your test in the first go. As Colin said right before my test "Arjun, check the mirrors, mirrors, mirrors and mirrors". I did and passed.
