I had never driven before and was quite nervous about it before starting lessons with Ian, but I’ve just passed my test first time thanks to him! Ian is an amazing instructor and is very patient. He always makes lessons interesting with his terrible jokes and imaginary old ladies in the back (voice acted himself), I would recommend him to anyone!

Ian is really a great instructor. He is professional, patient, nice, humorous, and can always figure out the best method for me to address my driving issues. It took longer than I expected to get my license, but with his support and encouragement, I finally got it and I believe my skills learned under his guidance will make my driving safe in the future as well. Ian not only provided professional driving training but also helped build up my confidence. I really appreciate it.

Ian‘s very good and reliable at what he does! He helped bring out the confidence in my driving that I lacked and has helped me get on the road quicker than I ever thought I would without feeling rushed! Very calm when things don’t go to plan which makes you feel at ease knowing it’s ok to make mistakes! I highly recommend Ian to anyone, especially people who lack in confidence!

Before my lessons with Ian, I was scared of driving and never thought I’d be able to do it! However, learning with Ian helped me gain confidence with myself and driving and thanks to his excellent teaching, endless patience and encouragement - I passed my test first time!

You can tell Ian is an experienced instructor as he can easily change his way of teaching you to a way that suits you. I passed first time with his help. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Ian is by far the best instructor i couldve had. He had a lot of work on his hands with teaching me as im not the best learner and im pretty shy. He made me feel very comfortable and persevered with me and got me through my test with only 3 minors ... i will by far be recommending him to anyone thats asking for a driving instructor

Brilliant instructor, can't recommend anyone else other than Ian, when there's obstacles in learning to drive, Ian is brilliant for you to overcome them (from my experience). Highly recommend as I've passed my test 1st time with him.

Ian is an unbelievably amazing instructor, he has several brilliant qualities that makes him an astounding instructor: he is kind, very patient, pays great attention to detail and has the ability to calm you down when you feel things are becoming too much in the lesson by telling his crazy jokes about Bessie and other characters ? each lesson I would be in fits of laughter from his crazy jokes and stories!
He has worked so hard with me, picking up on my flaws and fixing them to become a better driver and has also built greatly on my confidence!
I honestly don’t think l would of been able to pass if l didn’t have Ian as an instructor, it has been such a pleasure having him teach me. I would recommend him to anyone!

Ian is an amazing driving instructor even when he does tell his rubbish jokes, got me through both driving tests and kept me positive even though the first time was a fail, definitely recommend, wont regret it!

Couldn’t ask for a better driving instructor. He managed to turn learning to drive which I absolutely hated the thought of to something I looked forward to doing. Explains everything in an easy to understand manner and makes you feel safe when in the car. HES THE BEST!!!!

I had the pleasure of having Ian as my driving instructor and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! From the very first lesson, Ian made me feel at ease and confident behind the wheel. His wealth of knowledge and expertise, combined with his friendly and approachable demeanour, made each lesson enjoyable and productive.

Was nervous when I first started but Ian soon Calmed them down, Ian made me feel safe and assured me that I was doing fine!! Very easy to get along with!! Would recommend Ian to anyone! Fantastic driving Instructor!!

I have just passed my test and I believe that Ian was the reason for it not just the driving technique but also the mentality and how to be confident at the wheel, I will always recommend him to any of my friends and I am glad to have called him my driving instructor.

I was probably ians worse learner as i was extremely nervous on the road and let the nerves get the better of me.
Ian helped me over come this and made me the very aware cautious driver that i am today. He was so patient with me no matter how much i messed up.

A huge thank you to Ian Dickman for his help and support towards getting my driving license. Ian has been extremely patient, understanding, and a good laugh during my driving lessons. Ian has a great ability to create confidence behind the wheel when oftentimes I was nervous/unsure when first starting to learn; his guidance and adjustment of teaching methods depending on the situation helped teach me the correct skills to become a safe driver. The quality of teaching is superb and is significantly better than my previous experiences with other instructors. I would definitely recommend Ian to anyone learning to drive!

I’ve been practicing with him for about 12 months with breaks because of covid but that didn’t stop us from having a laugh.

An amazing instructor, who helped me to build up my confidence behind the wheels and become more aware of others around me.
Always finding ways to help me solve the problems I came across and keeping me calm whenever it became too much, with lots of fun stories. I’ll miss all the crazy jokes and having lots of different characters in the back, reminding me not to spill Bessie’s glass of wine!

The best instructor you’ll ever ask for, I passed my test first time in just a few weeks, thanks to Ian. He pushed me out of my comfort zone, while making sure he supported me, and in turn this encouraged me to grow and adapt to different situations, that you’d deal with in reality. I’d 100% recommend him to everyone.

Ian is a brilliant driving instructor built up my confidence from day one after noticing that i was nervous.
Ian is also punctual as well as being patient and put me at ease straight away. His car was good to learn in and well maintained.

Very good, understands how to cater to your needs

Great person and will always bring your best out. He does acknowledge flaws but tries to find a way to overcome them or ‘meet in the middle’ to help you further your skills. Thank you for all you have done and I hope to see you on the roads.

Ian is a really competent driving instructor willing to not only spend his time to help you pass a test but prepare you for independent driving. He is really patient and calming to help me pass my test first time with only one minor. I would definitely recommend ian to any learner with any amount of experience.

I’m not sure there’s a word that would quite encapsulate the gratitude that I have for Ian, with how expertly he trained me to pass my test first time. I’ve seen other reviews talk about Ian’s unique teaching style, and I could not agree more, he is incredible at tailoring the experience to the person he is teaching, and I always felt like I was in a safe environment to make a mistake and learn from it. He always put a smile on his face on every lesson and was always very patient with me, and had a great sense of humour with his impressions, and I honestly don’t think I could have a found a better driving instructor.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! After numerous driving instructors I got in contact with Ian and it was the best decision I made. Ian completely changed my perspective of driving and got me through my test with only 2 minors. I wouldn't of been able to do it without him. Would definitely 100% recommend him!!

Ian was a great instructor for me, he was friendly, patient, really knowledgeable and very funny. I found it really easy to get on with him, I highly recommend him!!!

Ian is not only a fantastic teacher but he is also a great guy. He has trained me throughout my journey to become a driving instructor and I am delighted to say that with his expert help and advice I have passed each test first time.

A lot of that is down to Ian's expert teaching style. I can only hope to be half the instructor he is going forward in my new career.

Ian is a kind, empathetic and knowledgable instructor. His ability to tailor his lessons and approach to his students is exemplary. I am a PDI and so needed help with my part 2. Even being a seasoned driver, I was very nervous. Ian knew exactly how to help me which led to an excellent pass after his lessons. I cannot rate Ian more highly. I will drive for over two hours for him to teach my Son, so that’s high praise indeed.

Ian is an absolutely great instructor, he is such a credit to drive Johnson's!! After being with a previous driving instructor who was clearly just out for my money and was not helping me to improve my driving at all. I approached Ian and I had approximately 6 lessons with him and I passed my driving test no problem. I am now driving about and loving every minute of it all thanks to Ian, I would highly recommend him without a doubt.

I started learning with Ian a few months ago and honestly he is one of the nicest, funniest guys I’ve met. He calmed my nerves down with my Driving and he helps by breaking the lessons up with his crappy jokes ;). I sure will miss Ian, Bessie and the Queen being in the back of the car with a cup of tea!
