How to claim a pre-paid pupil's payment

Learn how to claim a pupil's pre-payment after you have completed their driving lesson.

In this video, we'll show you how to claim a pupil's pre-payment after you have completed their driving lesson.

Firstly, open the Instructor Portal app, then, from your dashboard, scroll down to a tap on Active Pupils.

Find the pupil you wish to claim for and tap their name. Once on the pupil's profile, tap the View Payments button. This will open a new window which shows the remaining balance you can claim from and how much you have claimed for this pupil in total.

Listed below is the payments the pupil has made to the office and whether or not it is claimable. Tap on a claimable payment to open more information about that payment.

Here you will see a summary of the payment, along with your bank account details. It is important the bank details here are correct as this is the account the Accounts Department will make the payment into. If they are not correct, tap the settings link or go to your app's settings.

Once in settings, scroll down to and tap Your Bank Account Details. Enter the correct account number and sort code, sign off on the changes to confirm they are correct, then tap Save Account Details.

You can now go back to the payment and click the Claim Payment button.

The available balance you can claim will be displayed.

In the box below, you can enter how much of the payment you want to claim for to a maximum of 5 hours at a time. You can press the preset options or you can enter your own amount. However, if you enter an amount which is greater than the 5 hours, it will automatically adjust to the maximum amount you can claim.

You should then tick the box to confirm you have started the pupil's lessons, then tap Request Payment. You will then see your pending claim in the list at the bottom of the Claim Payment view.

You will receive a notification and a message to Accounts Messages when the payment has been paid into your account. If you visit the payment, you will see the status will have changed from 'Pending' to 'Paid'.

You can only have one claim at a time on each payment, so you'll only be able to claim for it again once the previous one has been paid.

You can also get a monthly breakdown of payments we've made to you if you visit the Payment History section of the app from the Dashboard.
