Syncing your work Calendar and Apple Calendar
Learn how you can create a one-way sync from your driveJohnson's Calendar to your calendar on your Apple Mac computer.
Sometimes you may wish to view your driveJohnson's Calendar in your Apple Mac Calendar. This is possible to do, but it is worth noting that it is only a one-way sync: your driveJohnson's events will show in your Mac's Calendar, but your Mac's Calendar events will not show in your driveJohnson's Calendar.
How to add your driveJohnson's Calendar to your Apple Mac Calendar
Firstly, open the Instructor Portal in your web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge etc.).
You may need to login; your username and password are the same as you would use to login to the app on your phone.
From your dashboard, click on the Calendar
button. At the top of the calendar page, where the month and year is displayed, click to open the small calendar menu.
At the bottom of the menu, there are three buttons: Resync
, Rules
and Info
. Click the Info
button. Scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up and click Share External
.
You will now be provided with two links - one is to share with Google and the other is to share with Apple. If you click the box containing the Apple link, it will automatically be copied to your clipboard.
Open your Mac Calendar app, then click File
in the menu bar at the top. Choose New Calendar Subscription
from the menu.
Paste the link to your driveJohnson's Calendar in the box which appears, then click subscribe. You will then be presented with some options for this calendar, including how often you would like it to refresh, the colour the events appear as and more. Once you are happy with the options, click Ok
.
Your driveJohnson's Calendar will appear in your Mac Calendar, though it may take a few minutes for your events to show.
