20 Years Of Serving Learners Well
In 2005, Anthony Johnson (Company Director) qualified as a driving instructor passing all of his exams first time. It was never his goal to grow the company to over 850 instructors nationwide.
However, the company started to grow, without trying to hard at the beginning by doing one simple thing; Serving people well.
Over the years and with the help and support of the office team and instructors, here we are 20 years later telling you the story.
In 2005, Anthony Johnson started with one man, one car… and a full head of brown hair.
Twenty years on, still actively involved - with a few more grey hairs to show for it.
The company has grown to over 850 fantastic, loyal instructors nationwide.

Founded in Milton Keynes, driveJohnson’s quickly built a reputation as a trusted, high-quality driving school known for fast pass rates. Within three years, it expanded to around ten cars in the MK area before rapidly growing into multiple regions across the UK.
Growing through word of mouth rather than big advertising budgets, driveJohnson’s now supports over 800 instructors across 1,000+ UK locations. Our success is built on dedication, quality service, and a reputation earned by putting learners first.

A few months ago, Ricky Norwood popped into the office to film a handful of videos with Anthony. These included the About Us video above, the miserable mock test fail, and a few others.
One of those videos involved a slightly cheeky (okay… a bit cruel!) prank on Ricky — and he had absolutely no idea.
We asked Ricky if he’d be happy to jump on the phones and take a booking. What he didn’t know? The whole thing was a prank!

To help you pass as quickly and safely as possible in the minimum number of lessons, saving you money in the long run and increasing positive awareness for us.
Whether you are looking for driving lessons in a small town such as Crawley or a big city such as London , we aim to provide the same quality driveJohnson’s service. We will always aim to take your driving test at a test centre local to you unless you tell us otherwise.
Our Aim To Our Instructors
To keep your franchise as low as possible and supply you with as many pupils as you need. Whether you need 150 pupils a year or just 30 pupils a year, we can tailor a driving instructor franchise to suit your financial and working needs.
We have never lost an instructor to another franchise to so far! If you are a PDI aiming to become a driving instructor – we can also help you!
