At driveJohnson’s, we want to give back to charities and the local community. Providing driving lessons to many young people across the country, we feel particularly strongly about the difficulties young people face. The causes we support reflect this.
Every year, we sponsor at least one sports team looking for local funding. This year, we are sponsoring the Newport Pagnell Pumas under 11s team.

We provide regular monthly donations to Great Ormond Street Hospital, which treats children with rare and complex illnesses. The charity supports the children and their families and carries out vital research into their conditions.
In 2023, Company Director Anthony Johnson ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Young Lives Vs Cancer, a charity providing support for children and young people (aged 0-25) and their families to get through cancer
In 2024, Anthony decided to run the London Marathon for YLVC. You can take a look at his training journey using the link below. Despite a few setbacks in his training schedule, Anthony successfully completed the 26.2 miles in 4 hours and 19 minutes. Thanks go to his generous supporters who helped him to raise over £4,500 for the charity.
Anthony then went on to team up with our office manager to run the London marathon in 2025 for YLvC again. Collectively, Anthony and Nicki raised close to £10,000 that year for the charity. Anthony achieved a better time of 3 hours 50 minutes, and Nicki also smashed her previous PB marathon time, achieving 5 hours 13 minutes.
Since then, Anthony has gone on to continue raising awareness and more money for YLvC by running other events such as 50K Ultra, Chicago Marathon (3 hours 40 minutes), and he is now set to run the Tokyo Marathon, London Marathon and MK Marathon – 3 marathons in 3 months!

driveJohnson’s, in collaboration with Young Lives Vs Cancer, has also launched the Drive Against Cancer Scheme, to provide young people put forward by YLVC with 50 free driving lessons. The first person to benefit from the scheme, Danika Hill, has now passed her test in a manual car. The second, Lauren Dickinson, passed her test on Christmas Eve 2025 with ZERO driver faults.
Anthony has plans to run further marathons to raise money for charity. These include:
- Tokyo, London and Milton Keynes: 3 marathons in 3 months
- Berlin Marathon (September 2026)
We will update this page to let you know how he gets on, so do keep an eye out for more information on these events in the months to come.
