Charity, sponsorship and helping the community

At driveJohnson’s, we want to give back to charities and the local community. Providing driving lessons to many young people across the country, we feel particularly strongly about the difficulties young people face. The causes we support reflect this.

Every year, we sponsor at least one sports team looking for local funding. This year, we are sponsoring the Newport Pagnell Pumas under 11s team.

We provide regular monthly donations to Great Ormond Street Hospital, which treats children with rare and complex illnesses. The charity supports the children and their families and carries out vital research into their conditions.

In 2023, Company Director Anthony Johnson ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Young Lives Vs Cancer, a charity providing support for children and young people (aged 0-25) and their families to get through cancer.

In 2024, Anthony decided to run the London Marathon for YLVC. You can take a look at his training journey using the link below. Despite a few setbacks in his training schedule, Anthony successfully completed the 26.2 miles in 4 hours and 19 minutes. Thanks go to his generous supporters who helped him to raise over £4,500 for the charity.

driveJohnson’s, in collaboration with Young Lives Vs Cancer, has also recently launched their new Drive Against Cancer Scheme, to provide young people put forward by YLVC with 50 free driving lessons. The first person to benefit from the scheme, Danika Hill, is now learning to drive. You can find out more about Danika’s story below. In time, we hope to roll out the scheme to more people and areas.

In September 2024, Anthony ran the Great North Run to raise money for Young Lives Vs Cancer, with his biggest fans Carla and Freya joining him on his trip up to Newcastle to support him. You can find out how he did via the link below.

You can find out more about their experiences of the day and their take on it afterwards using the links below.

During the rest of 2025, Anthony has plans to run further marathons to raise money for charity. These include:
