Driving Lessons in Abingdon

Don was the best instructor I could have hoped for, I always felt relaxed and positive when learning with him, which I am sure helped me to pass on my first attempt. I would always look forward to my lessons with him, as he was so cheery and patient with me. I would recommend him to anyone learning to drive, thank you so much!

Don was a committed, attentive and dedicated coach who instructed me through trial and error, mistakes and bad habits. Don always made it very clear from the start that he really wanted his students to understand what it meant to be a good and sensible driver on the road and not just take lessons purely as a means of passing quickly and with that short sighted view in mind.

I would like to thank Don for the patience, enthusiasm and exceptional instruction he brought to my driving - my confidence on the road has improved- and would I recommend him to anyone looking for good quality teaching. Hats off and thanks to you Don and the many drivers you have seen through this important milestone!

Don taught all three of us sisters to drive and we passed within six months of each other, which, in all truth, is probably his most masterful achievement to date. Don matches oratorical fireworks of advice with a sense of humour, mischief and slight exaggeration which is likely unparalleled in a driving instructor. He's quite excellent at the actual teaching part too, if you rate that sort of thing. We will all miss his technical skill and observations, the provision of free water and the occasional offering of chewing gum. Most of all we will miss his own unique brand of personal wisdom, and cannot recommend him highly enough.

From first lesson I knew Don was the driving instructor for me. Doesnt waste your time or money. Pushes you but at the same time makes you feel at ease. I am a late driver and was very nervous but Don got me on the road in a few months and now im all over the place. Recommend him whole heartedly if you want an instructor who not only wants you to pass as soon as your ready, but wants you to be the best driver. Go with Don!

My parents had brought me a voucher for some lessons for my Birthday so I could start my lessons and im so glad they found Drive Johnsons as I passed my test today with 3 minor faults.

When I first started taking lessons with Don I was a terrified learner (trainee as Don prefers to call it) driver and I have just passed my test with only 3 minors! I couldn't have done it without Don! Lessons with him are engaging and fun. He has a way of making you feel at ease, but at the same time not letting any bad driving practice slip through the net. He is very encouraging and does not ask you take any more lessons than you need, a rare trait! He keeps calm in what could be potentially really stressful situations, and really treats you like you're one of his cadets- he took the trouble to come in and try and jumpstart our car when it broke down, without asking anything for it. My husband is now taking lessons with him, and I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone!! Thanks coach! :D

Don is the best instructor I could wish for. He is supportive, patient and knows how to make you feel confident behind the wheel. He has a relaxed approach but he will push you where he thinks he should. It was very enjoyable learning with him which I'm sure helped me pass my test first time. Thanks to Paul Houghton I passed my driving test. Very priveleged to have him as my instructor. He never hesitated to

I called Drive Johnsons for some advise as I had never had lessons before, I spoke to a really nice lady on the phone who advised me to start with an introductory lesson. I was really pleased with how well both the office staff and my instructor dealt with my needs and could fit me in up to my test day which I passed. Thanks for all your help. Don - the man, the myth, the legend. I went from pretty much never being behind the wheel to passing on my first go in 6 weeks. He truely knows his stuff when it comes to coaching how to drive - even to students like me who question and debate every instruction, so that not only do you become a good driver in general but also know how to pass the driving exam. So overall you can't go wrong if you go with Don :D

Passed my test with Don, in a really short space of time. Sending relatives over from India in order to complete course! A friend of mine highly recommended Don to me, and I have been recommending Don to people too. Don always turns up on time for our lessons. He encourages and challenges me in a patient and constructive way. Don taught me how to drive safely, which has also made me a safer cyclist. Don has become more of a friend to me now. I was happy to pass my driving test, but I was sad at the same time because I enjoyed driving with Don and didn't want our lessons to finish!

By the way, Don is totally English in accent, so you won't have any problem with understanding him.

Very patient, lovely, and has great methods of teaching which really help you to learn exactly what you need in a short space of time. Don knows exactly what is needed of you in the test and never fails to better your driving skills with each lesson, I'm so pleased that I passed and couldn't have done it without him. Plenty of jokes and tunes throughout the lessons to lighten the mood!

He was the only one to support me in this long journey. When I started I was so insicure and scared but Dons' great teaching abilities, and of course his great sense of humour made it all so fun and easy. I always looked forward to having lessons with him.

Absolutely amazing instructor and would highly recommend. All the reviews are true. Got a nervous middle aged woman to pass ready and feeling much more confident very quickly indeed.

Chad is such a kind, helpful and caring instructor. Never made me feel pressured or panicked and every lesson was a relaxing and helpful experience. If you want to learn with someone that works at your pace and wants to see you succeed then he is your man.

I already had driving experience in the pass but I needed to get out of bad habits and up to standard to enable to pass my driving test. I didn't pass 1st time due to a silly mistake of my own, but Dom helped me to correct my mistakes which enabled me to pass 2nd time. I would definitely recommend him.

If there was an option for 6 stars, I would be more than happy to give them.

I was so nervous at the prospect of driving. After just one lesson I felt at ease. I couldnt of asked for a better instructor to fill me with confidence. You can see the improvement in every lesson and I couldn't recommend him more.

Don has been a great driving instructor over the months the best I have ever had. Upon getting in the car with him for the first time I knew he will be the coach to get me through and pass the first prestigious time. I passed my test today 11th July 2018 thanks to Chad. His teaching is amazing and I couldn't have passed without him. he built my confidence up. I started learning with the AA but they wasn't very good. Switching to Chad was the best thing I did and I passed first time!

I would strongly recommend Paul for driving lessons. I passed first time with only 1 minor and he was helpful and supportive throughout my learning journey.
