Firstly, stop so you can assess your position better by looking in the door mirrors. The next thing you will need to do is take a shunt forwards to create some space, so when you go back into reverse you can adjust the steering sooner. Lastly, don’t forget to keep up all round observations throughout the manoeuvre.

Every learner differs in their requirements - for example, if you have a deadline to pass in or want to pass very quickly you may wish to have more driving lessons each week. However, most of our learners start with just one lesson a week and increase this as they get closer to their test.
We do tend to find that our learners learn most effectively having 2-hour rather than 1-hour lessons. This is because it gives you enough time to drive for a distance as well as practice skills and manoeuvres, even if there is traffic or you need to get to a specific location. It also allows you time to practice and build up your confidence.
Yes, we have a fantastic team of local automatic driving instructors in the area. All of our automatic driving instructors in Clapham are observed by a company trainer at least twice a year as well as the DVSA’s standards check, so you can rest assured that their teaching is of the highest calibre. Many of our automatic learners feed back to us that they felt relaxed behind the wheel during their lessons, so if you struggled with manual, automatic driving lessons may be perfect for you.
