It's good to be considerate of other road users, but on your test, you have got to go nice and slow so you have time to do all the observations needed. The faster you do the manoeuvre, the faster your observations should be. You know what to do - keep your speed slow so you have time to observe!

When you are on the independent driving part of the test, it's common to miss your mirrors and signalling when listening to and following the satnav. Remember, every time you hear a new direction, be prepared to check your mirrors and put a signal on if needed.

On your first lesson, your driving instructor in Clayhall will come to meet you and introduce themselves. They will ask you a bit about your previous driving experience if you have had any. If you have not, don't worry; many people have not had any previous driving experience before learning with us. During this initial chat with your instructor, they will go over the basics of the car, do an eyesight check and check your provisional licence.
Once this is done, your instructor will begin your driving lesson in a quiet road. If you are new to driving, you will likely cover moving off and stopping, clutch control, the different pedals and how to steer. If you have had more experience, your instructor may ask you to take them on a drive so that they can assess your skill level and tailor a lesson plan to your specific needs.
