You can go over them slightly but imagine a car was parked in the bay. If you think you would hit it, then stop and adjust.

Many learners fail their manoeuvre because they rush it. They get concerned about keeping other road users waiting. It's good to be considerate about other road users but on your test you have got to go nice and slow so you have time to do all the observations needed. The faster you do the manoeuvre, the faster your observations should be. You know what to do - keep your speed slow, so you have time to observe!

At the start of your lesson, your driving instructor in East Finchley will have a quick initial chat to introduce themselves and find out a bit more about you. They will ask you about your previous driving experience, go over the basics of the car, do an eyesight check and check your provisional licence.
Once this is done, your instructor will begin your driving lesson in a quiet, local area. They will cover the basic car controls, moving off and stopping, clutch control, the different pedals and how to steer. You will always begin in a quiet area away from cars and other road users to learn at your own pace.
