Your driving instructor in Godalming will ask you about your previous experience. If you have not had any previous lessons, that is fine as many people have not had any previous experience. During this chat, your driving instructor will also go over the basics of the car, and they will do an eyesight check and check your provisional licence.
Once this is done, your instructor will then begin your driving lesson in a quiet area. They will cover moving off and stopping, clutch control, the different pedals and how to steer. You will always begin in a quiet area away from cars and other road users to learn at your own pace.
When taking your driving lessons in Godalming, you will need to take your driving test in another location due to Godalming not having a test centre. When you are test-ready, your driving instructor will begin to teach you in the area of your test to help you prepare for the day.
Your two nearest test centres are Guildford and Farnborough. When it comes to choosing which test centre to pick, that is down to personal preference. However, it is worth noting that Farnborough does have higher pass rates year after year.
