Just try to do it safely and you will be fine. Many learners will swerve at short notice, realising they are in the wrong lane and fail for the changing lanes part. If the examiner can see you have time to get into the correct lane, they may repeat the instruction or use hand signals. They won't repeat or re-enforce the direction if it isn't safe or there isn't enough time. You will not receive a driving fault for safely going in the wrong direction on your test.

On your first driving lesson in Grimsby your instructor will ask to see your driving licence. They will also check your eyesight so if you wear glasses bring them. Your instructor will ask you about your previous driving experience too.
Assuming you are a beginner, you will then be taken to some quieter areas of Grimsby, such as Scartho, where roads like Windermere Avenue and Coniston Avenue are long and straight - great for practicing the basics.
With the driving test centre so close to the A180 and A16, you can expect to go on these roads either at the beginning or end of the test usually. These two roads are best to check your progress (keeping up to the national speed limits where safe) and overtaking skills. Depending on the time of day (non rush hour), it’s not uncommon for the examiner to direct you towards the train station and town centre too. Here, you will find many traffic lights, box junctions, roundabouts and few no entries too!
