Frequently asked questions...
The amount of time spent learning each week will vary for each person - if you have a deadline to pass in or want to pass very quickly you may wish to have more driving lessons each week. However, most of our learners start with just one lesson a week and increase this as they get closer to their test.
We do tend to find that our learners learn most effectively having 2 hour rather than 1 hour driving lessons. This is because it gives you enough time to drive for a distance as well as practice skills and manoeuvres, even if there is traffic or you need to get to a specific location. It also allows you time to get into the zone and build up your confidence. If you are concerned, please give our friendly Enquiries and Bookings Team a call and they will be able to advise.
In your first few driving lessons, you will start to learn the basic foundational skills you will need to drive.
In your first driving lesson in Hebburn, your driving instructor will take you to a quiet area in the town to show the basic controls of the car, including what pedal does what, how to adjust your seat and mirrors, how to operate the lights. You will also learn how to move off and stop the car and how to turn left and right.
Once you have begun to develop these fundamentals you can then use those skills to complete manoeuvres. As your lessons progress and your skills grow you will begin to work on more clutch control, hill starts, how to tackle T-junctions, meeting traffic and roundabouts.
