Speed limit signs must be present when there is change in the speed limit. What are the cars in front doing? Are they driving considerably faster? What is the car behind doing? Are they driving too close and looking angry? None of these observations will give you the exact answer, but they can help you make a calculated decision. Also, look out for the examiner checking your speed limit; sometimes they lean over to see the lower speeds such as 30mph.

Your driving instructor will come to meet you at a time and place in Hove that works well for you. Many of our learners are picked up from their home address, but we can always pick you up at another address in Hove should this be better for you. Your driving instructor will have a quick introductory chat with you to find out a bit more about you and any previous driving experience you have. They will also quickly check your eyesight and provisional licence to ensure that you are legally able to drive.
If you are new to driving, they will then drive you to a quiet residential road nearby so that you can build up your confidence behind the wheel away from the pressures of other traffic and hazards. You will learn the basic car controls, how to move off and stop, changing gears, clutch control, turning left and right from a major to minor road, and possibly emerging from open T Junctions, depending on how fast you are progressing.
If you have had driving lessons before, your instructor will likely ask you to take them on a drive around Hove so that they can see your skill level and any areas where you might need to improve before your driving test. They will then be able to give you an idea of how many lessons you will need to be test-ready and build a lesson plan tailored to your needs.
All of our teaching vehicles are modern, dual-controlled cars with heating and air conditioning. No need to worry about getting too hot and uncomfortable on warm summer days - our instructors will pop the air conditioning on to keep you nice and cool.
