Frequently Asked Questions
On your first driving lesson, your driving instructor will often take you to a quiet road to find out what you already know and then cover the basics of what you don't know. Once you feel comfortable with the car and your instructor's teaching methods, they will start introducing different subjects along the way.
The problem with driving is you can't teach everything in one go and expect all the information to sink in, so our grade-A driving instructors will go through each subject when a situation/problem arises within the lesson. Using the latest client-centred learning style approved by the DVSA, our instructors go one step further and use the driveJohnson's VARK system, which stands for; Visual, Aural, Read/write, and Kinaesthetic. Our instructors are trained to listen to you carefully and then offer agile teaching styles/strategies to suit most character/learner types.
If you are coming to us at an intermediate stage or with a driving test coming up, then we usually recommend our famous 2-hour assessment. In 2 hours, our instructors will go over many areas of King's Lynn to see what you know and what you don't know. Expect to be taken through the many one-way streets on the shorefront of the River Great Ouse and around King's Lyn train station too. The one-way streets catch many learners out, often positioning incorrectly to turn right at the end of the road or even trying to go down a no-entry road. Going along the A418 brings many challenges, too; with several yellow box junctions on this busy road, it often leaves some roads users straddling the box junction. Lastly, the Southgates Roundabout is one to be tested, it's a spiral roundabout with five exits and three lanes leading up to it from most directions. Keeping in your lane when you are on the roundabout is key, with many learners drifting out of lane without implementing the full MSPSL routine first.
As you can see, we know King's Lynn incredibly well, and our instructors will guide you to test standards as quickly and safely as possible using a teaching style that suits you!
