Russel is an absolute star, he is very patient and consise in his instructions. He always bases tests around test routes and is very good at giving good reference points for maneuvers making them the easiest part of the test

You can fail your test for driving too slow or too fast. Don't make sudden changes if you sense the examiner is looking over at your speedo. Just gently come off the gas or gently apply more depending on if you are going too slow or fast.

Lancing has its own test centre, so many learners from surrounding areas come here to take their driving test. Luckily for you, it's on your doorstep so right from the word go you can start picking up the test routes as your instructor is teaching you how to drive. Killing two birds with one stone is what we do by teaching you safe driving for life, whilst getting you familiar with the test routes at the same time; this obviously increases your chances of passing first time.
With the test centre located on Chartwell Road, you, as a learner on their test, will be presented with lots of potential problems, such as lorries parked up or coming towards you and lots of parked cars in general. You will need good meeting and anticipation skills as you leave the test centre, knowing when to give way to oncoming vehicles etc. As the test progresses, you maybe taken towards Worthing or Shoreham-by-Sea via the A259/Brighton Road, where the speed limit changes depending on the direction you are going.
The overall first time pass rate at Lancing floats around 50% most years, which is pretty good compared to the national average.
