If you ever forget what direction you should be going, always ask the examiner in plenty of time. You will never fail your driving test for going in the wrong direction, but you can fail for not driving safely. If in doubt, ask as soon as you can.

After a few initial checks, your driving instructor in Mansfield will drive you to a quiet area in the town, such as The Rodery, so that they can start to teach you to drive away from distractions. If, like many of our learners, you have no prior driving experience, you will start by learning the basic car controls, gears, clutch control as well as moving off and stopping.
When you have mastered the basics, your driving instructor will have you driving along quieter roads in Mansfield, such as those in Ladybrook, to practice turning left and right from major to minor roads, emerging from junctions and meeting traffic.
As you grow in confidence, you will brave the busier A roads that thread through Mansfield's town centre, practicing dual carriageway driving on the A60 and tackling the difficult crossroads where the A60 and A6009 meet.
