If the junction is blind, try leaning forward and moving your head as if watching a tennis match. If it's blind, don't be afraid to wind the window down to try and hear anything while you are creeping out to improve your view.

When doing the forward bay park, the examiner will ask you to drive forward into any bay. Driving forwards into a bay with parked cars is tricky, so try to avoid doing it next to parked cars or at least do it next to just one parked car.

We are often asked by our learners if they can be picked up from one location for their driving lessons and dropped off at another. To reassure you, this should be absolutely fine. Please just let us know that this is what you need when you call our booking team to book your lessons. They will then organise this with your driving instructor.
This is a burning question many of our learners want to know. In our experience, and we help 1000s of learners to pass each year, it can vary from person to person. Some students come to us having had some driving experience, as it is possible to practice driving outside of driving lessons (see our article who can teach me to drive?), whilst others have never got behind the wheel before. Other factors, such as confidence, can also play a part. However, we do know that our driving instructors are all the highest quality teachers and experts at helping learners to drive. That's why our average learner passes in less than half the time of the national average: in 26 hours rather than 57! We also regularly have learners passing in just 10-15 hours with us, so know we will work hard to help you pass as safely and quickly as possible.
Your driving instructor in Pontyclun will come to pick you up from an address of your choosing. They will ask you some questions to get to know you and find out about your previous experience. During this chat, they will also explain the basics of the car, check your eyesight to ensure that you are safe to drive and check your provisional licence. Please bring your provisional licence with you to your first driving lesson or your driving instructor will not be able to proceed past this point.
Once this is done, your driving instructor will check that you are in a quiet area or take you to one to start practicing driving. They will look at how to steer, how to use the pedals, clutch control, moving off and stopping.
