If you are asked to do this, the examiner will explain this to you when the car is stationary. You will most likely notice your examiner looking over their shoulder when the car is moving. This is to double-check it’s safe, so be ready. When they look over their shoulder, they are about to ask you to stop!

Many learners fail their manoeuvre because they rush it. They get concerned about keeping other road users waiting. It's good to be considerate of other road users, but on your test, you have got to go nice and slow so you have time to do all the observations needed. The faster you do the manoeuvre, the faster your observations should be. You know what to do - keep your speed slow so you have time to observe!

At the start of your first driving lesson, your driving instructor in Rutherglen will find out a bit more about you and your prior driving experience. They will do an eyesight check and check your provisional licence to ensure that you are able to drive legally.
Once this is done, if you have had no prior experience, your instructor will begin your driving lesson in a quiet area in Rutherglen, like Prospecthill Circus. You will learn how to move off in the car and stop it, how to use the controls and how to steer. If you are progressing quickly, you may take a drive around quiet roads and practice turning left and right from a major to minor road, and maybe even emerging from a T Junction.
If you have some experience, your driving instructor will likely ask you to drive around Rutherglen to assess your current skill level and areas that you will need to work on to be ready for your driving test. They will then give you some feedback on this and create a lesson plan to help you increase your skills.
