It's a 30mph road so be careful - it's very easy to sneak up to 35-40mph during the day at quiet times. Also, there are roundabouts both ends of the road. Look out for the arrows/road markings to follow the road ahead. There are two lanes for going ahead on one roundabout. When there is light to little traffic you should use the left-hand lane to go ahead.

You have a 1 in 4 chance of being asked to do the emergency stop. If you are asked to do this, the examiner will explain this to you when the car is stationary. You will most likely notice your examiner looking over their shoulder when the car is moving. This is to double-check it’s safe, so be ready. When they look over their shoulder, they are about to ask you to stop!

Also, we should mention that if you choose a block booking deal with us we won't hold any of your pre-paid hours back for your test. Some companies do it as a catch, so if you are unhappy with them and want to go elsewhere, you forfeit your remaining hours or you lose your remaining hours if you don't follow their rigid lesson terms. Beware!
Beginners will typically start their lessons in Tollgate Industrial Estate, Littleworth and Doxey, to name a few. Once their confidence is up and they know the basics, they will be driving in and around the town like a boss covering some tricky junctions, including one-way streets, no entries that can catch even the best drivers out, and some narrow roads with parked cars on both sides. Once that's been mastered, then it's usually a case of covering the large roundabouts that connect to the A34, A449 and A518 roads that wrap around or pass through the town. All of these areas are test routes and as standard procedure, we will teach you safe driving for life, plus cover the tricky areas mentioned, so you are ready to pass with class on the big test day!
