My instructor was amazing! really easy to get along with and taught me everything so i got it really quickly. passed first time.

I had a great time learning with Andrea and if you want to pass fast then make sure you learn with Andrea as she is amazing.

2 years ago I started driving lessons.... I chose automatic because i couldnt get my head around the gears and also to try and get my confidence up and was ready for my test...then my instructor left (not sure if I'm to blame ?) and my test was cancelled. Trying to find an automatic car that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg for me in insurance and we just couldn't...... so my husband bought me a manual last week, and I started lessons with Andrea. I was ashamed until recently to admit to anyone that I was still learning, it doesn't come easy to me because I'm an older learner, and my anxiety is at a massive high when behind the wheel. But I'm so glad I found Andrea, she's put me at ease, made me more determined than ever that I AM GOING TO DO THIS.
I had a lot of lessons over a couple of years off and on and failed my test but i didn’t feel i was learning a lot. My friend advised to call Drivejohnsons so idid i wish had done this ages ago my Instructor was brilliant so patient and i eventually passed my Test.Thankyou so much DJ.

Best instructor that I have ever had! I have tried learning with two other national driving schools but they seemed to want my money instead of my learning. However, when I came to learn with Drivejohnson and Andrea my lessons changed and I felt like my learning had been massively improved and I have been able to pass my test first time.
I had a great time learning with Andrea over the summer and thanks to her I have been able to pass my test on my first attempt and just a few weeks into my final year of school.
Loved every second with Andrea, she was great at keeping me calm and made sure that I was confident on what we had previously covered before moving onto the next subject.

You can fail your test for driving too slow or too fast. Don't make sudden changes if you sense the examiner is looking over at your speedo. Just gently come off the gas or gently apply more depending on if you are going too slow or fast.

Living in the picturesque town of Thirsk, there are plenty of quiet roads around where you can practice behind the wheel away from the pressure of traffic. Roads such as Bluebell Court and Drovers Way provide great locations for this, though there are many other similarly quiet roads that would also be suitable.
Your driving instructor will take you to one of these on your first lesson to start learning and teach you the basic car controls. You will cover how to move off and stop the car, clutch control, steering, turning left and right from a major to minor road and perhaps even emerging from an open T Junction, depending on how fast you progress.

On your very first driving lesson with us, you will need to ensure that you bring your provisional driving licence as your driving instructor will need to see this before they can start teaching you. Apart from that you just need to bring yourself and a willingness to learn!
