If you notice the examiner marking something on the marking sheet, don't panic! There are other elements of the test that they need to mark, which doesn't mean you have received a recorded fault. They have to mark down when a manoeuvre, hill start, angled moving off, and more is completed.

You have a 1 in 4 chance of being asked to do the emergency stop. If you are asked to do this, the examiner will explain this to you when the car is stationary. You will most likely notice your examiner looking over their shoulder when the car is moving. This is to double-check it’s safe, so be ready. When they look over their shoulder, they are about to ask you to stop!

If you would like to take your driving lessons in Torquay, we can pick you up from your house in Cockington and then you can either be dropped off at home or in Torquay. If you want to be picked up in one location and dropped off at another, simply let your instructor know before your lesson.
If you want to practice your parking when you are outside of your lessons, there are several good spots to do this. If you're going to practice your parallel parking, we would recommend any long straight road you feel comfortable driving down.
If you want to practice your bay parking, the best spot to do this would be in the Sainsburys and Marks and Spencers car park that can be found down Nicholson Road. We would suggest you practice in this car park as it is the largest in Torquay, meaning you have plenty of room to practice without being placed under unnecessary pressure.
