Many learners fail their manoeuvre because they rush it. They get concerned about keeping other road users waiting. It's good to be considerate about other road users, but on your test, you have got to go nice and slow, so you have time to do all the observations needed. The faster you do the manoeuvre, the faster your observations should be. You know what to do - keep your speed slow, so you have time to observe!

Stop the car if you are doing the bay park and realise you will go over the white lines. Don't continue going over the lines. You can go over them slightly but imagine a car was parked in the bay. If you think you would hit it, then stop and adjust.

Your driving instructor in Totnes will ask you about your previous experience. If you have not had any previous lessons, that is fine as many people have not had any previous experience. During this chat, your driving instructor will also go over the basics of the car, and they will do an eyesight check and check your provisional licence.
Once this is done, your instructor will begin your driving lesson in a quiet area. They will cover moving off and stopping, clutch control, the different pedals and how to steer. You will always begin in a quiet area away from cars and other road users to learn at your own pace.
