Many learners fail their manoeuvre because they rush it. They get concerned about keeping other road users waiting. It's good to be considerate of other road users, but on your test, you have got to go nice and slow so you have time to do all the observations needed. The faster you do the manoeuvre, the faster your observations should be. You know what to do - keep your speed slow so you have time to observe!

Your driving instructor in Welling will start you off in a quiet road away from traffic, such as Abbott's Walk, so that you can get to grips with the basics before meeting traffic. Then you will be practicing turning left and right from a major to minor road, and emerging from T Junctions as your driving instructor introduces you to the busier streets around the town. As your confidence grows, they will have you building up your skills around busy, tricky areas, such as where the junctions where Upper Wickham Lane, Belegrove Road and Hook Lane meet near The Cannon. Then it will be off to practice test routes for the local test centre that you have booked your test at, so that you feel fully prepared and confident ahead of your test.
