Driving Lessons in Abingdon

Paul Houghton is a honest and helpful instructor. I learned a lot from him. I was able to clear my test in first attempt.

I got my son some lessons from driveJohnsons, it was really simple to call & get them as a gift and they managed to arrange for Paul to arrive on his 17th Birthday for his first lesson. Ever since, he is ecstatic when he arrives home from his lessons and is feeling very optimistic about passing sooner rather than later, all thanks to Paul!

Amazing driving instructor felt very comfortable, always so cheerful and never in a bad mood. Would 100% recommend him to anyone of all ages. So glad he was my driving instructor!!!!! Can't recommend him enough.

Don is a great instructor I had an international licence and needed to pass my uk test and Don was recommended to me by my wifes friends. He is calm, patient, very helpful and gave me great confidence, I had about 10 hours of lessons with Don and passed first time.

I can’t thank Don enough for being so patient with me, and helping me achieve my highest goal. I couldn’t of asked for a better driving instructor!

I have been taking lessons in different cities for what felt like forever. When i moved to Oxford, i was recommended to take lessons with Don and it has paid off! Passed today and couldn't have done it without Don's help. He was always calm and relaxed while i drove, and was very reliable. I was able to pick up the new area very quickly and he always gave great advice during lessons. Highly recommended!!!

Don is a great instructor firm when he needs to be but always fair. Knows exactly what's needed to be gone over and when to go over it. It also doesn't hurt that he's a great laugh!

Don taught all three of us sisters to drive and we passed within six months of each other, which, in all truth, is probably his most masterful achievement to date. Don matches oratorical fireworks of advice with a sense of humour, mischief and slight exaggeration which is likely unparalleled in a driving instructor. He's quite excellent at the actual teaching part too, if you rate that sort of thing. We will all miss his technical skill and observations, the provision of free water and the occasional offering of chewing gum. Most of all we will miss his own unique brand of personal wisdom, and cannot recommend him highly enough.

Donovan is a great driving structor who I would highly recommend without hesitation he is amicable and made me feel at ease he gave me the confidence and knowledge to allow me to pass my test first time with only one miner for not indercating into the test centre (my fault) if your'e looking for a instructor for yourself or your children then don russle is the guy to go to!

Had 3 different instructors in the UK and a total of 5 including the ones from my home country. Don "the coach" is simply the best. Have finished my driving licence last week (had a different instructor in the end due to unforeseen reasons) but Don was the one that taught to drive and made me a confident driver much unlike my 1st instructor. He's just the best driving instructor you could ask for!

Go on Don!! Legend! Such a great coach! I Go to Portsmouth uni but travel back to oxford just to do lessons with him! I'm a nervous driver and make silly errors but I passed in no time!!! Great teaching method! Great service! Go to Don aka coach! :D

Don is an excellent instructor and I'd recommend him to anyone. He'll recognise your driving weaknesses quickly, show you how to correct the problems and you'll practice until you're comfortable and confident.

Don - the man, the myth, the legend. I went from pretty much never being behind the wheel to passing on my first go in 6 weeks. He truely knows his stuff when it comes to coaching how to drive - even to students like me who question and debate every instruction, so that not only do you become a good driver in general but also know how to pass the driving exam. So overall you can't go wrong if you go with Don :D

Don has been a great driving instructor over the months the best I have ever had. Upon getting in the car with him for the first time I knew he will be the coach to get me through and pass the first prestigious time. I highly recommend Don is one of a kind driving instructor and I will continue to tell all my friends and family about him. Sadly our ways have to part now as tears where shed It was a happy yet emotional day . 10/10 genuine down to earth guy I'm glad to have met him . Will take his great advice with me to the grave .

A friend of mine highly recommended Don to me, and I have been recommending Don to people too. Don always turns up on time for our lessons. He encourages and challenges me in a patient and constructive way. Don taught me how to drive safely, which has also made me a safer cyclist. Don has become more of a friend to me now. I was happy to pass my driving test, but I was sad at the same time because I enjoyed driving with Don and didn't want our lessons to finish!

By the way, Don is totally English in accent, so you won't have any problem with understanding him.

Being one of Don's cadettes has been an absolute pleasure. He is not only statistically, but also practically, the greatest coach ever. He really knows his stuff - couldn't have done it without him, the legend. Other talents include dancing, taglines, and takeouts. 10/10, would do the 30 hours all over again!

I had a driving instructor before (through a different company) who was awful so I was nervous when I booked Don but he was amazing. Don is always in a good mood, I felt completely safe and relaxed in the car and learnt so much, especially with help from the Drive Johnsons learner page, so helpful. I felt Don had confidence in me and really listened to my concerns and what I struggled with and would create a good plan to combat these. I can't rate him highly enough, I've already recommended him to everyone I know.His jokes aren't as funny as mine though.

Was so nervous to start driving but Paul instantly made me feel at ease and safe. Paul is so good at what he does and helped me learn so quickly. Can't thank you enough!

He is very patient, friendly and at the same time efficient coach.

I phoned the drive Johnsons office and spoke to a really bubbly lady who advised me to take 2 hours per lesson which is brilliant advice because I would never learn in just a 1 hour lesson so anyway after 34 hours I passed my practical which I’m so happy with.

Passed my test on the 18th Oct, I know for a fact I wouldn't of done it without don in my corner , a awesome driving instructor, who I gladly call a friend, I would highly definitely recommend don ,he is a credit to drive johnsons establishment

I was so nervous at the prospect of driving. After just one lesson I felt at ease. I couldnt of asked for a better instructor to fill me with confidence. You can see the improvement in every lesson and I couldn't recommend him more.

I called Drive Johnsons for some advise as I had never had lessons before, I spoke to a really nice lady on the phone who advised me to start with an introductory lesson. I was really pleased with how well both the office staff and my instructor dealt with my needs and could fit me in up to my test day which I passed. Thanks for all your help. Don was a committed, attentive and dedicated coach who instructed me through trial and error, mistakes and bad habits. Don always made it very clear from the start that he really wanted his students to understand what it meant to be a good and sensible driver on the road and not just take lessons purely as a means of passing quickly and with that short sighted view in mind.

I would like to thank Don for the patience, enthusiasm and exceptional instruction he brought to my driving - my confidence on the road has improved- and would I recommend him to anyone looking for good quality teaching. Paul Houghton is a great instructor, I learnt a lot with him and he has a lot of patience for new learners. I would recommend anyone that wants to start taking lessons to take them with him.

Don is the best instructor I could of found. He came highly recommended. Don was very calm and keen to push me to learn to drive as fast and safely as possible. Could of done it this soon without Don.

I passed my test today 11th July 2018 thanks to Chad. His teaching is amazing and I couldn't have passed without him. he built my confidence up. I started learning with the AA but they wasn't very good. Switching to Chad was the best thing I did and I passed first time!

Having only started driving a week ago to the day, with no previous experience, I would like to share my delights with you all. I'm not gonna lie it was turbulent yet I've learnt so much over this amazing journey. I would like to give a special thanks to DriveJohnsons, Ernie the car and the one and only Don, my coach.

From going from someone who never drove to a 36 hour intensive and passing first time and it's all thanks to this man! Let's just say I'm happy he taught me, fantastic instructor and one I'm definitely going to try sending people to!
