A superb driving instructor and excellent communicator. Ian is able to effortlessly create a relaxed learning environment, putting you at ease, and focusing you on the learning tasks ahead. He builds consistent driving skills and confidence, whilst never condescending, and always tailoring the teaching to the way you learn best.

Great instructor, very understanding and patient, nice person to drive with and very knowledgeable. Passed first time and it was all down to the well planned lessons before the exam. Cannot thank Ian enough!

I had never driven before and was quite nervous about it before starting lessons with Ian, but I’ve just passed my test first time thanks to him! Ian is an amazing instructor and is very patient. Ian was a very good instructor. From the first lesson until I passed he helped me with anything I wasn’t sure about. Would highly recommend him as he is very understand and professional. He always supported me.

I started learning with Ian a few months ago and honestly he is one of the nicest, funniest guys I’ve met. He calmed my nerves down with my Driving and he helps by breaking the lessons up with his crappy jokes ;). I sure will miss Ian, Bessie and the Queen being in the back of the car with a cup of tea!

Brilliant instructor, can't recommend anyone else other than Ian, when there's obstacles in learning to drive, Ian is brilliant for you to overcome them (from my experience). Highly recommend as I've passed my test 1st time with him.

Ian taught my older brother to drive so there was hesitation in asking him. I was nervous for a start and he walked me through every step explaining everything and building up my confidence. absolutely amazing instructor!! after failing the first time with a different instructor, I turned to Ian for help and I wouldn't look back! after only 4 hours of driving with Ian before my next test I learned considerable amounts and succeeded by passing the 2nd time round. Couldn’t ask for a better driving instructor. He managed to turn learning to drive which I absolutely hated the thought of to something I looked forward to doing. Explains everything in an easy to understand manner and makes you feel safe when in the car. HES THE BEST!!!!

An amazing instructor, who helped me to build up my confidence behind the wheels and become more aware of others around me.
Always finding ways to help me solve the problems I came across and keeping me calm whenever it became too much, with lots of fun stories. I’ll miss all the crazy jokes and having lots of different characters in the back, reminding me not to spill Bessie’s glass of wine!

I learnt with Ian and I passed my driving test first time! He’s a really good instructor and is very good at making you feel comfortable and building confidence. He gives really trustworthy advice and is able to change his lessons to suit you as an individual. He lets you choose what you want to do in the lesson and if you’re not sure, he’ll always have an idea in mind. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better driving instructor!

Ian is an unbelievably amazing instructor, he has several brilliant qualities that makes him an astounding instructor: he is kind, very patient, pays great attention to detail and has the ability to calm you down when you feel things are becoming too much in the lesson by telling his crazy jokes about Bessie and other characters ? each lesson I would be in fits of laughter from his crazy jokes and stories!
He has worked so hard with me, picking up on my flaws and fixing them to become a better driver and has also built greatly on my confidence!

A huge thank you to Ian Dickman for his help and support towards getting my driving license. Ian has been extremely patient, understanding, and a good laugh during my driving lessons. Ian has a great ability to create confidence behind the wheel when oftentimes I was nervous/unsure when first starting to learn; his guidance and adjustment of teaching methods depending on the situation helped teach me the correct skills to become a safe driver. The quality of teaching is superb and is significantly better than my previous experiences with other instructors. I would definitely recommend Ian to anyone learning to drive!

Ian is not only a fantastic teacher but he is also a great guy. He has trained me throughout my journey to become a driving instructor and I am delighted to say that with his expert help and advice I have passed each test first time.

A lot of that is down to Ian's expert teaching style. I can only hope to be half the instructor he is going forward in my new career.

Becoming a driver is an expensive process however, I got my moneys worth out of each lesson I had with Ian. I'm not a very fast Learner and thought I would never drive and with the help of Ian, his jokes about Bessie in the back, linking driving to skills I already have and building my confidence to solve problems.
I would 100% recommend Ian and his flashy Red and White C3 and his not so funny jokes. If you want to learn how to drive, he is the instructor to learn with for sure! EXCELLENT INSRUCTOR

The best instructor you’ll ever ask for, I passed my test first time in just a few weeks, thanks to Ian. He pushed me out of my comfort zone, while making sure he supported me, and in turn this encouraged me to grow and adapt to different situations, that you’d deal with in reality. I’d 100% recommend him to everyone.

Ian‘s very good and reliable at what he does! He helped bring out the confidence in my driving that I lacked and has helped me get on the road quicker than I ever thought I would without feeling rushed! Very calm when things don’t go to plan which makes you feel at ease knowing it’s ok to make mistakes! I highly recommend Ian to anyone, especially people who lack in confidence!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! After numerous driving instructors I got in contact with Ian and it was the best decision I made. Ian completely changed my perspective of driving and got me through my test with only 2 minors. I wouldn't of been able to do it without him. Would definitely 100% recommend him!!

Ian is a really competent driving instructor willing to not only spend his time to help you pass a test but prepare you for independent driving. He is really patient and calming to help me pass my test first time with only one minor. I would definitely recommend ian to any learner with any amount of experience.

I have just passed my test and I believe that Ian was the reason for it not just the driving technique but also the mentality and how to be confident at the wheel, I will always recommend him to any of my friends and I am glad to have called him my driving instructor.

I’m not sure there’s a word that would quite encapsulate the gratitude that I have for Ian, with how expertly he trained me to pass my test first time. I’ve seen other reviews talk about Ian’s unique teaching style, and I could not agree more, he is incredible at tailoring the experience to the person he is teaching, and I always felt like I was in a safe environment to make a mistake and learn from it. He always put a smile on his face on every lesson and was always very patient with me, and had a great sense of humour with his impressions, and I honestly don’t think I could have a found a better driving instructor.

3 months ago, I had never sat infront of a steering wheel let alone actually drove a car. Today I passed my test first time, with only 4 minors! Ian, right from the very beginning of my learning journey built up my confidence and made sure every aspect of my driving was good. He is always offering very helpful constructive criticism however he never forgets to praise the good skills that you may have. This guy pays great attention to detail and learning to drive with him was an absolute pleasure. I 100% recommend learning with Ian, he is a very good teacher and instructor.
