Useful driving test tip for Great Yarmouth Show more

Useful driving test tip for Great Yarmouth

There are elements of the driving test where the examiner is more forgiving than others. A few things they are not forgiving on are the following: poor observations, judgement at junctions such as roundabouts, lane discipline and following other vehicles too closely. These sort of problems, if they go wrong, usually lead to serious car accidents. Make sure your judgement and lane discipline is good, you do your observations and follow other vehicles at a reasonable distance!

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens on my first few driving lessons in Great Yarmouth?

Starting your first driving in lesson in Great Yarmouth for some learners can be quite daunting. Don't worry if you are beginner, we won't throw you in the deep in end until you are ready. Beginners will typically start their lessons in areas such as South Beach Parade circle where you have a lovely long road that comes back on itself and joins South Denes Road. When you are ready to add a turning in there 'Hartmann Road' links the two roads together so you can practice away from the hustle and bustle in the centre of Great Yarmouth.

If you are coming to us partly trained then you may not see the quieter areas of Great Yarmouth as we head off to your nearest and most commonly used test in Lowestoft. If you live in Great Yarmouth then get used to the A47 as this is the quickest road to get to the test centre areas. Here you can practice driving 60/70mph, overtaking situations with roundabouts on the way to keep you on your toes with observations and judging other traffic too.

Why use local driving instructors in Great Yarmouth?

As a general rule, most booking agents don’t have a relationship with their instructors like driveJohnson’s or a local driving school in Great Yarmouth would. For example, booking.com or Go Compare can’t have a close relationship with all the companies they refer you to. They are just a middle man that makes money on the internet. This isn't so bad for insurance or hotels but for a service like learning to drive, there is simply more to it!

At driveJohnson's our instructors are in house, they have been with us for many years and they live in Great Yarmouth or Lowestoft. Many booking agents will send you an instructor (especially for intensive courses) and they don't know the area because they maybe coming from Norwich, King's Lynn or even Colchester. Learning with an instructor who doesn’t the know the local area very well can be dangerous as they can’t possibly plan your lessons properly. A good instructor should know the area well and know where they are going so they can practice specific areas of your driving safely.

How soon can I start my driving lessons in Great Yarmouth?

At the moment we can accommodate new pupils and get their first lesson started with just 2-3 days notice. If you are looking for an intensive driving course in Great Yarmouth then we may need more time, so lease call the office for intensive course availability.

Do you have a female instructor in Great Yarmouth?

Yes we do, she has been with the company for over 5 years now and she works part time. If you would like to get booked with her, we will most likely need 2-3 weeks notice.
