Patient, knowledgeable and all around great teacher! Strikes a balance between letting you drive independently while correcting your mistakes and helping you learn. Passed first time and couldn't say a bad word.

Harry

I have had lessons on and off for a few years now, I then fell pregnant and definitely needed to drive before my baby came so I called drive Johnsons and they paired me with Lee who I passed my test with after 38 hours.

Megan Garrett

Very good driving instructor, I passed first time with Saleem. Helpful that Saleem spoke my first language of Urdu. Thank you Saleem.

Lee is an amazing instructor. He helped and reassured me in times where I doubted myself, his way of teaching was fantastic which enabled me to become confident and ensured that I was test ready in which I passed first time! I definitely recommend.

Lee was the third driving instructor I had and I’m extremely glad I didn’t settle for less. He made learning to drive very easy and stress free, always managed to find time that suited me and was always full of constructive criticism. I passed my test first time thanks to Lee’s teaching!

Saleem is super professional and was good at keeping me relaxed as he was always calm and collected making my learning super easy and fast.

My mum bought me some lessons for my birthday as my cousin passed with this company and I’m so glad I did as they helped me with my theory test and my practical exam. Thank you Lee!

Over the moon I just passed my test in Huddersfield, I wasn’t very confident but I was so happy with my instructor as he helped build my confidence back up and pass my test!

I cannot recommend Lee enough, he’s helped me to pass my test first time. His calm and practical teaching style really helped me get to grips with all aspects of driving very quickly. His knowledge and approach made learning to drive fun and engaging.

Test Tip Of The Month For Horsforth

Did you know you can touch the gear lever if you are unsure of what gear you are in? Some cars will tell you what gear you are in, and others don't. If in doubt, briefly touch the gear lever and based on its position, you should be able to identify what gear you are in without looking down.

Useful Driving Test Tip For Horsforth

Taking a mock test leading up to your driving test is a great way to practice the pressure and get a rough idea of how ready you are for your test. If you are getting 102 serious faults two weeks before your test, consider having a few extra hours. If you can't pass the mock test, how will you pass on the day of the actual test?

Our best advice would be to rest in the knowledge that we have you covered and it's completely normal to feel nervous before your first driving lesson. Many of our learners come to us feeling anxious, either due to first lesson nerves or a bad experience from another driving school, and we will do all we can to ensure you feel comfortable quickly.

You will be in expert hands with our driveJohnson's instructors. They have years of experience and have taught people of many different abilities to learn to drive. They are used to teaching learners who feel nervous and will work hard to put you at ease and grow your confidence behind the wheel.

During your first lessons you will be taken on some of the quieter roads in Horsforth to get you used to driving and familiar with the car. Then, once you have mastered the basics and feel ready, your instructor will start taking you further afield, tailoring a lesson plan to your needs so that by your test you feel fully prepared. Know that you will progress at a pace that you are happy with and that works the best for you.
