Andy was an excellent instructor, he pinpointed my weaknesses in driving and helped me improve in those areas. It's good to be considerate of other road users, but on your test, you have got to go nice and slow so you have time to do all the observations needed. The faster you do the manoeuvre, the faster your observations should be. You know what to do - keep your speed slow so you have time to observe!

Your examiner will ask you to pull up the left several times during the test. Sometimes they will ask you to stop by something specific such as behind a parked car or next to a lamp post. Sometimes, they will ask you to pull up on the left at a safe place where you would leave your car.
When the examiner says this, they are testing to see whether you stop in unsuitable areas such as bends, double yellow lines, too close to a junction, opposite a junction, double parking, and more. When the examiner says, “Pull up on the left at a safe place where you would leave your car”, GET YOUR THINKING CAP ON!

Learning to drive is no different to learning any other new skill in life: everyone is different and everybody learns at a different speed. The average time required for complete beginners taking driving lessons with driveJohnson's is 24 hours; however, we can't promise that this will always be the case. What we can promise is that you will receive the best level of teaching from dedicated instructors, who will really work with you every step of the way.
Our driving instructors will start you in quieter areas such as Shenley or Elstree. As your confidence grows you will move onto busier roads such as the A1. Our driving instructors in Borehamwood are all local and know the area like the back of their hands; therefore, they know the best roads to take you on during your lessons as well as all the test routes and difficult hotspots.
