When you are on the independent driving part of the test, it's common to miss your mirrors and signalling when listening to and following the satnav. Remember, every time you hear a new direction, be prepared to check your mirrors and put a signal on if needed.

Many people have not had any previous experience driving beforehand so if that's you, please don't worry. On your first driving lesson, your driving instructor in Pontypridd will ask about your previous experience, go over the basics of the car, do an eyesight check and check your provisional licence.
Once this is done, your instructor will ensure that you are in a quiet area so that you can start practicing your driving skills. Your driving instructor will cover moving off and stopping, clutch control, the different pedals and how to steer. This will always happen in a quiet area away from cars and other road users to learn at your own pace.

Yes, we have a driving instructor available in Pontypridd who is able to take lessons bright and early at 7.30am before you start work. Firstly, please be reassured that you are not alone in feeling nervous about driving lessons. In fact, that is why we wrote an article about learning to drive with anxiety because we find that a lot of learner drivers feel nervous when they come to their first driving lesson. It can feel like a daunting experience. However, know that a big part of our driving instructors' job is to build up your confidence with driving and make you feel at ease.
