Moving off is in the top 10 reasons for failing a driving test. A couple of classic reasons are, being in the wrong gear when stationary at lights or a junction, then stalling, and another is moving off with the handbrake still on or slightly on - especially on hills.

On cold wet days, make sure your demisters are set up before you move the car away at the beginning of test. It helps to have the aircon on or your windows slightly cracked so the windows don’t steam up. Adjusting the demisters while the car is moving under test conditions is an extra problem you don’t want.

Your instructor will probably take you around Eaton Socon if you've never driven before - the road surfaces are smooth and there are wider spaces here to practise on.
Once you've mastered your reverse bay parking and you have learnt how to drive safely sticking to speed limits, the instructor will start introducing you to slightly more difficult tasks - like driving through the town centre on Great North Road, tackling mini-roundabouts all along the way.
Wherever you decide to take your test your instructor will get you to start practising test routes - your closest test centres will be Cardington or Cambridge.
We would recommend Cambridge - you'll probably have a better chance at getting a test sooner as they offer 2 local test centres meaning you are less likely to face the dreaded wait.
