I’ve been learning to drive since august and passed my test today first time with 2 minors which at the start of my driving journey i didn’t even think i could do..paul also sends materials to use from home to help with both theory and practical which is massively helped me and in my lessons we focus on what i would like to do which is great because i feel i can get the most out of my lessons therefore at the end of each lesson i always come back knowing more than when i started it, thank you!

Paul is an amazing driving instructor, I could be quite nervous before a test and he really helps to calm those nerves that defiantly helped me to pass. Learning to drive with Paul has been an amazing experience! I was really nervous before even starting my lessons and struggled with my anxiety, especially in test situations. I can’t speak highly enough of Paul. When I started my lessons with him, he understood that I could become quite nervous in some situations. With his help and guidance he identified coping mechanisms to help me keep these nerves under control, and boost my confidence which then helped me to become a better driver. He also explained processes to me in an extremely clear and comprehensive way, and this was definitely a massive help. In addition, he was very accommodating with me and my work hours. I passed first time and this was all down to the thorough guidance Paul provided and the confidence he instilled in me.

Paul is an excellent driving instructor, he understands and listens to you when you don’t understand an aspect of driving and will try frame it in a way that will make sense to you, he will not use mainstream teaching methods saying this is the way it is supposed to be done and only stick to that he will try to make it make sense to you. No matter the mistake he will always find a way to make it a lesson weather it be something to do better next time or something to avoid, additionally he will let you experience for yourself if he needs to intervene he will other than that he will let you learn from what you do.

Amazing driving instructor, Paul got to know me, and how I learn best in a way that wasn't forceful and me ease up.After a few driving instructors bailed out, mostly through constant lesson cancellations, Paul was overall very clear and thorough in his messages and procedures.Paul was very strategic and very well planned when it comes to the lessons and also has great patience and is amazing at explaining what you need to be doing and WHY you need to be doing it in whichever way.Happy to say I passed 2nd time at Cannock St with 8 minors.

So you can teach an 'old dog new tricks', or Paul can! I was very nervous about learning to drive and Paul put me at my ease with his calm, unflappable manner. This is because he helped me to believe in myself and find the virtuous circle, not the vicious. He can help you too because he gets to know and understands how to help you best and if you need to stop and reset yourself after a mistake or two, he let's you. I passed my test first time with only one minor fault.

Excellent driving instructor Paul took the time to get to know me and how I best learn he made me feel at ease straight away and made me feel like I can do this.I have multiple learning disabilities adhd autism dyslexia to name a few and Paul understood that I had specific learning requirements. I have had lessons in the past but nothing ever seemed to sink in Paul works with me and my brain in a way no one has been able to before and it’s all sinking in since learning with Paul.

As a person who has had prior driving experience overseas, Paul was a very good tutor for me. Paul is fantastic! I was a super nervous driver having failed before. Paul helped me get my confidence back and I managed to pass with only three minors. He’s a great person to get along with and he teaches you great driving techniques for all the tricky parts of the test.

I had 1st lesson with Paul, and I didn’t expect to have learnt so much. The stories I’ve heard about driving instructors (in general), how they scream and shout, wasn’t the experience I had. He was calm, clear and very supportive.

As a driving instructor he was very informative, calm, clear and provided support when i needed it. What i found most helpful was him explaining why we do certain things, as it helped me understand and remember better.

Without doubt the best driving instructor I have had. Paul actually cares and wants people to do well. If you are ready to take a test he will tell you and not make you do extra to take money from you. I had failed my driving test 5 times previously but with Paul I passed in one go and only taking about 10 lessons maximum. If you are a nervous or not so confident driver(due to my numerous test failings) Paul will get you through. I have no doubts about it!

Paul is an excellent teacher and instructor. He doesn't just teach you to drive, he designs the lessons arounds an individual person's needs. For example, my confidence had been knocked after a bad experience with my last instructor. I told him I had no idea how to do bay parking. By the end of the lesson not only I had i learned to bay park, but I also did it correctly not once but two twice.He also checks your knowledge and understanding by asking questions just like a teacher would. My confidence was 0/10 at the beginning of the lesson but rose to a 10/10 by the end of it. He goes the extra level to help all his pupils. The free theory pro app he sent me is really helping me to prepare for my theory test. I would definitely recommend him to all new learner drivers but especially to nervous and learner drivers who have had a previous bad experiences as he makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed.

It was my first lesson back after a year out, driving in an auto car for the first time and I was made to feel completely at ease. Paul explained everything that was going on and what was to happen, pushed me through my comfort zone and made it such a comfortable experience!

Excellent instructor. After having few instructors and being with lack of confidence, I met Paul. He always stayed calm and explained everything clearly. After my first lesson, Paul had already made me feel more comfortable within driving than my previous instructor who I had for quite some time. I felt as though I achieved quite a lot within a 2 hour lesson and I am very excited for the rest of my learning journey with Paul.

After having lessons with a few different instructors, I’ve found that Paul’s method of teaching is right for me. He found out my learning style and really got to know how I think so I could get the best out of his lessons. I’m a fairly nervous driver and I finally feel at ease at the wheel after being given a specific methods to draw on when things get tough. I had my first driving lesson with Paul Reilly today & it was so much fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I have never been in a drivers seat before, let alone drove a car - so I was very new to driving. As it was my first driving lesson, I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t ever think I would be driving a car, especially on my first lesson. Yet, I was driving around - I learnt how to start and stop the car, turn left & right, change gears & reverse into a parking space. This was all possible as I felt so at ease & relaxed with Paul. He’s very reassuring, guiding you the whole journey. I would strongly recommend him to any person learning to drive. :)

Paul is amazing, I bought vouchers for a block course of driving lessons as a present for my nephews 21st, he was responsive and happy to answer any questions I had and sent vouchers in super fast time! My nephew is loving his lessons and making great progress, Paul has gone above and beyond sending me progress reports via text which I think is lovely! He super professional and if anyone is thinking of buying vouchers as a special Christmas present I would strongly recommend Paul, you won’t regret it!

I started my driving lessons with Pual from August. I have just past my test on Friday on my first attempt.Pual is a very reliable instructor, he always points out all my mistakes through my driving at the same time he gives me the confidence I need too. I highly recommend Pual to be your next driving instructor.

There are many types of driving instructor, you can get cubic zirconia or you can get diamond. Paul is a diamond! I took my first step back into driving after an absence of 25 years, extremely nervous and having never really had much confidence in the first place. With low expectations I have learned so many techniques in my first refresher lesson I can’t believe it. I expected to drive round an industrial estate for hours tbh. I have learned how to parallel park, park in a bay at Sainsbury’s and drive in busy traffic in just two hours. I still have some relearning but also learning to do as my past instructors never got me in and out of the car looking at where I’ve just put the car and importantly why and how. I never really understood why some things I did worked and some didn’t, I’m getting to see the theory of it which is what I personally need to feel happier behind the wheel. Paul says he will teach you what you need to learn to drive for life not to get through a driving test and I totally believe it. I only wish he’d been able to teach me those years ago. Certainly does what he says on the tin! And anybody lacking in confidence or skills would benefit from some time with him.

I had my second lesson today with Paul and before my lessons I was convinced I was one of those people who just couldn't drive. I didnt understand what to do and I would never pick it up. In my second lesson I was driving down a duel carriage way at 60! And its all down to Paul, he's so relaxed and calm which is the exact type of driving teacher I need. He doesn't panic if I stall or do something wrong and that is exactly what I need. Thank you Paul!

Today I had my first driving lesson with Paul and it was amazing! He was very calm and helped to explain aspects of driving that I didn’t know or understand at all before the lesson. I felt very comfortable and confident driving with him although I’ve heard little to no experience and I would definitely recommend him!

Today I PASSED my driving test FIRST TIME having only had 28hours of driving, I started off as a brand new learner driver, Paul Reilly was an absolutely fantastic instructor, he made me feel very comfortable at the wheel and I felt under no pressure at all, with the help of Paul I can say that I finally have my own freedom and can not wait to see what my future holds, thankyou so much again, Morgan!

I came to paul after being treated badly by another instructor so i was obviously sceptical about finding another but paul was amazing from our first lesson he kept me feeling rest assured he wasnt just here for my money he took time in showing me things my old instructor never did! I learnt a lot in the few lessons i did with him. Also when ever i was feeling like i couldnt do somthing he’d tell me i could and believed in me.. and today i passed my driving test!! When I first got in touch with drive Johnsons they gave me a start date and told me an instructor would be in contact a few days before my first lesson but the same day I had a message from Paul and he was able to bring my start date forward by 2 weeks! Paul is a great instructor who lets you take control of your own learning and is able to adapt his teaching strategies in which suits you best. First time pass with Paul!! He's such a patient and calm instructor. I tried a few different instructors before I found Paul and I'm so glad I did. His teaching style is calming, so if you're anxious about getting behind the wheel he is a good choice for you. He always encourages you to be reflective at the end of a lesson, thinking about what went well and what you can focus on to improve next lesson. Paul has really high standards for his students, which was actually such a good thing because he would warn me about lots of smaller errors that perhaps other instructors dont draw attention to and it meant I found the test easy. I had my first ever lesson with Paul the other day and the amount of progress I achieved was unbelievable, I was only expecting to be doing a few manoeuvres on an empty piece of land somewhere but I did so much more such as parking, turning on a roundabout and driving lots, I had a few nerves at the start but they soon passed when I was in the drivers seat being reassured by Paul, he put me at rest and helped me immensely, I would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to learn how to drive, especially first timers!

Amazing first lesson with Paul. I’ve learnt more in this 1 lesson than I have in the 16 I had before. I feel confident calm and in control learning with Paul and I’m 100% sure I will pass after receiving his instruction. To begin with I was quite an anxious driver and didn't have a lot of confidence, but that changed after taking lessons with Paul! I found his lessons to be very informative as any information he gave to me or any questions I asked resulted in well educated answers. He identified things/areas I wasn't so good at and coached me properly on how I could do a better job next time. He let me progress at my own pace and didn't get annoyed or angry with me if things did go wrong, so I didn't feel too bad about making mistakes! As a result of everything, I'm a much calmer and more confident driver and I passed first time! Thank you very much! :)

Had my first driving lesson with Paul today. I've had a couple of different instructors previously but never felt very confident. After spending a couple of hours behind the wheel with Paul I feel so confident about learning, he explains why we do certain things and helps you understand how the car works. He doesn't take over the controls all the time but helps you to learn independence. He's very calm even when you make mistakes which is so useful. I'm actually enjoying learning now, which I never thought I would. Thanks Paul!

I used Paul Reilly with Drive Johnson’s. Having previously had lessons outside the company, coming to drive Johnson’s was definitely for the better! From no experience with cars whatsoever, I now feel comfortable behind the wheel and passes my test first time. Paul is a great instructor, professional and tailors your learning to suit you. I was a very nervous driver at first and i never thought i would pass my test but paul helped me out through my nervous phase and i started growing confidence and the progress i made in a small amount of time was amazing. Very professional, friendly, patient and helpful instructor! As an anxious driver starting up lessons again after over a year off, Paul has helped me to become a lot calmer and more confident on the road by explaining clearly and reassuringly why a mistake happened and how to prevent it from happening again. I felt comfortable on my lessons very quickly and that I could ask any questions and recieve well-informed, well educated answers and solutions to tackle problems. I particularly like how he asks you what your goals are each lesson and what you hope to achieve, so the focus is on you and your progression and not just doing the same thing over and over every lesson. Paul is fantastic compared to previous instructors I've had and genuinely seems to care about helping you to become the best driver you can be. Had a fantastic first lesson with Paul. I am generally a nervous person, but Paul seemed to know exactly how to make my first lesson feel as comfortable as possible for myself. I've driven before with 2 prior instructors, but never have I driven as confident and as comfortable as I had just been with Paul. He is very thorough and very helpful in his approach.

I had my first lesson and i found him really patient, informative, friendly and smart. He explains everything logically and spots quickly where you are struggling. He corrects your mistake nicely without making you anxious and explains you of the rules you should respect even if you make the same mistake several times. Definitely recommended for everyone.

The best lesson I've had. Really informative and supportive. Very encouraging. He was patient with me and helped me evaluate my strengths and weaknesses so we could work on targets for improvement. I can see myself making so much progress with Paul. After a year + of not doing lessons he really helped me ease back into it and recap my knowledge with neat tips and tricks to remember things.
