Test Tip Of The Month For Winsford

If you are unsure of where you are going on your driving test, even the independent driving part, please ask the examiner to help you with directions. Mishearing the odd direction is normal; just ask the examiner in plenty of time so you can continue to plan and drive safely.

Useful Driving Test Tip For Winsford

A classic question is: what happens if you go the wrong way on your test? The answer is not a lot. Just try to do it safely, and you will be fine. Many learners will swerve at quick notice, realising they are in the wrong lane and fail for the changing lanes part. If the examiner can see you have time to get into the correct lane, they may repeat the instruction or use hand signals. They won't repeat or re-enforce the direction if it isn't safe or there isn't enough time. You will not receive a driving fault for safely going in the wrong direction on your test.

Frequently asked questions...

Your closest test centre is located in Northwich meaning that this is highly likely where you will choose to take your test and where your instructor suggests for you to test.

If you do want to take your test here then your instructor will make sure you are fully prepared by giving you driving lessons in Northwich, meaning you will be able to learn possible test routes and any difficult junctions or roundabouts.

Your driving instructor in Winsford will come meet you at the prearranged time and place and put you at ease. They will ask you a bit about you and any prior experience you have had behind the wheel. Your driving instructor will also do an eyesight check and check your provisional licence.

After this, your driving instructor will begin your driving lesson in a quiet, residential road, such as Old Spot Way, where you can practice away from traffic. You will be taught how to move off and stop the car, clutch control, the different pedals, turning left and right from a major to minor road, and perhaps even emerging from an open T Junction, depending on the speed you are progressing at. You will always begin in a quiet area away from cars and other road users to learn at your own pace.

Before you can take driving lessons in Winsford, you will need to be aged 17 and have a full UK provisional driving licence. You can apply for a provisional licence here. Alternatively you can send off an application form via post and details for this can also be found on the government's webite.
