In most places, parking on the pavement is prohibited and enforced by the local council. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and inconvenience pedestrians, especially wheelchair users, the visually impaired, and anyone with a pram/pushchair.
Can you park on the pavement?
Currently, in England, parking on the pavement is only illegal in London. The Highway Code states that you must not park partially or wholly on the pavement in London and should not do elsewhere unless signs permit it. This means that drivers in London are committing a punishable offence if they park on the pavement, whereas elsewhere in England, it isn’t necessarily an offence.
