driveJohnson’s has more than 500 driving instructors who cover most of the near-400 practical driving test centres located across the UK. To pass your driving test, you’ll need to sit both a theory test and a practical test to gain your full UK licence, which is why there are two types of test centre.
We’ve compiled information about each of these test centres, so you can know what to expect from each of them.
Choosing a test centre
You should discuss which driving test centre you should take your driving test at with your fully qualified driving instructor. You can find your nearest driving test centre on the GOV.UK website by entering your postcode.
If you’re in Northern Ireland, you can find your test centre using the NIDIRECT.GOV.UK website.
When learning to drive, it is often good to cover the test routes used by your chosen test centre – your instructor will cover these with you. This allows you to become used to the roads you’ll use on your driving test so you’re not dealt anything unexpected when you might be feeling nervous.
