In your first driving lesson, your driving instructor will take you to a quiet residential area, such as Bucksford Lane, to practise. Once you're confident with the basics, including moving off and stopping, clutch control and changing gears, then you will move to busier areas and main roads, such as Brookfield Road. You will practise turning left from a major to minor road and turning right, roundabouts and T-Junctions. Your driving instructor will ensure that you progress at a pace that works for you and that you feel happy with.
