Examiners are very partial to drivers following too close. Remember on 30mph roads to keep at least six car lengths back from the car in front (if they are doing 30mph). Anything above 40mph, use the 2-second rule! If it is raining, remember that the stopping distance will double.

This is entirely a personal preference, depending on your schedule and how quickly you want to pass. We would recommend a 2-hour driving lesson once a week - this is to ensure that you have enough time in each driving lesson to cover all that needs to be looked at. Alternatively, you can opt for a 1-hour driving lesson each week, or you could have more than one driving lesson a week should you wish to pass sooner. Your first driving lesson in Blackwood will start in a quiet residential area, like Apollo Way, where you can start off learning to drive without being put under pressure by lots of other vehicles. Once you have mastered the basics, you will be taken out on busier A and B roads around Blackwood, such as the B4254, where you can practise roundabouts and emerging at T-Junctions. You'll tackle the busy High Street when you have grown in confidence but please be assured your lessons will not be restricted to Blackwood itself. You will be driving in and around all the nearby villages and, as soon as your driving instructor feels you are ready, they will be taking you down Pengam Road towards Methyr Tydfill , where your nearest driving test centre is. They can then show you some of the popular test routes you might come across on your driving test.
