Frequently asked questions...
Caerphilly is one of the largest towns in the Caerphilly County Borough. During your first driving lesson, you will likely be driving in a quiet suburban area such as Heol Ty Merchant, where you can take your time learning all of the controls of the vehicle along with clutch control and steering. You’re driving instructor will also take you along the B4600 down to Crescent Road where you can take in the gorgeous Caerphilly Castle while navigating down park lane onto the high-street.
Once your driving skills have developed further, the instructor will then take you down all the test routes to help improve your understanding and learning of manoeuvres, including parallel parking, reverse round corners and emergency stops.
The nearest local test centre is an 18-minute drive into Cardiff, along the way to the test centre. Not only will you make your way down the Thornhill Road but you will also encounter a roundabout or too which will help prepare you for journeys around local areas, such as Trecenydd and Nantgarw.
At this moment in time we are unable to offer automatic driving lessons in Caerphilly, but we are actively working on this! However, you can still learn to drive with us and give our manual driving lessons a go and see how you get on. Learning to drive and passing in a manual vehicle means that your licence will permit you to drive both manual and automatic vehicles, so you get the best of both worlds!
Yes you can. We have a great network of local driving instructors in and around Caerphilly and we have driving instructors that cover your area. We also offer driving lessons in nearby Pontypridd, Blackwood, Cardiff, Mountain Ash, and Llantwit Fardre, plus we can arrange for you to be picked up in one location and dropped off at another, if this would be preferable. Our aim is to make our driving lessons flexible to ensure that they work for you; just let our bookings team know what you would prefer and we will look to arrange this for you.
