Useful Driving Test Tip For Colney

If you are unsure of where you are going on your driving test, even the independent driving part, please ask the examiner to help you with directions. Mishearing the odd direction is normal; just ask the examiner in plenty of time so you can continue to plan and drive safely.

Frequently asked questions...

After getting you started on calmer roads, such as Beningfield Drive, and supporting you to master your manoeuvres, like your turn in the road, your driving instructor in Colney will start taking you on test routes for the St Alban's test centre. From Beningfield Drive, you will find a connecting road, the B5378, that will lead you on a scenic route past Sopwell House and directly into St Alban's, where the test routes will take you through the busy streets tasking you with traffic lights, congestion, pedestrian crossings, and more.

All of our teaching vehicles are modern, dual-controlled cars with heating and air conditioning. So please don't worry about getting too hot and uncomfortable on warm summer days - our instructors will pop the air conditioning on to keep you nice and cool.
