Useful Driving Test Tip For Kidlington
When you are at the test centre, about to start your driving test, the examiner will ask you to drive on when you are ready. Don’t rush yourself, take a deep breath, and make sure it’s safe to move away. There are often learner cars beside you starting their test at the same time.
If you move away at the same time as another learner, you risk immediately failing on observations. Make sure you apply a full 360 observation check before moving off!

If you live in the quaint village of Kidlington and you are looking to drive for the first time then we have local instructors who can help you on your doorstep. Because they know the area well, there would be no need to drive away from the village until the basics are covered and your confidence is up. A good practice area for beginners is the Gosford estate where it's nice and quiet. Here you can master the foundations before you and your instructor decide which test area to start practicing in.
The popular option is taking your test at Cowley test centre in Oxford (approx 6 miles away). However, it's not uncommon for some learners to request to take their test in Banbury (approx 16 miles away).
If you're learning with one of our driving instructors in Kidlington and only driving during your lessons, you won't need learner driver insurance, as you'll already be covered under your instructor's insurance policy.
If you also plan to practise in a family member's or friend's car outside of your lessons, you'll usually need to arrange learner driver insurance before getting behind the wheel.
You will need to bring your provisional driving licence to your first lesson as your driving instructor will need to see this before they can start the lesson. Apart from that you just need to bring yourself and a willingness to learn!
