Driver caught travelling 100mph down M4 hard shoulder a year after passing test

An 18-year-old driver from Milton Keynes has been banned from driving after being caught travelling 100mph.

Danish Taqwa, 18, was caught undercutting drivers at 100mph whilst travelling down the hard shoulder of the M4.

Danish was travelling in his Audi A3 on the 6 May past Swindon and was caught by several motorists on their dash cans as his car kicked up dust due to the excessive speed.

Appearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 23 September, he pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and was sentenced just a year after getting his licence.

Wiltshire Police stated that Taqwa had been disqualified from driving for four months and has been ordered to pay £200 in fines, £90 costs and a £34 surcharge.

Whilst he has been banned from driving, several motorists have hit out at the leniency of the punishment.

Many drivers believe the punishment should be more severe due to the danger he put other drivers in.

Whilst he will be off the road for four months, it appears that Danish could do with some refresher driving lessons before he gets back behind the wheel.
