Anthony is on the final leg of his journey to becoming a Six Star Major Marathon finisher.
Anthony first started taking marathon running seriously when he received a ballot place for the 2025 London Marathon. He had previously run the London Marathon in 2024 with very little training due to injuries and his late mum being unwell with cancer.
His mum sadly passed away in August 2024, several months after Anthony completed his first marathon in 4 hours and 19 minutes.
After London 2024, Anthony swore blind that he would never run another marathon. However, receiving a ballot place for London 2025 turned out to be exactly what he needed to spark his motivation for running again.
He wanted some redemption, so in January 2025 he hired a running coach to help guide him towards a better time. Anthony completed the 2025 London Marathon in 3 hours and 50 minutes – a result he was over the moon with.
This was the real beginning of his running journey.
Anthony decided to continue running after London 2025 and, fast-forward to today, he recently completed the Berlin Marathon in an impressive time of 3 hours, 15 minutes and 53 seconds.

Anthony’s World Marathon Majors Journey
Anthony has now completed four of the six World Marathon Majors needed to become a Six Star finisher, including running the London Marathon three times. With New York and Boston the only two left to complete, here are the Majors he has completed so far:
- London 2024, 2025 and 2026 – best time: 3 hours, 33 minutes
- Chicago 2025 – 3 hours, 40 minutes
- Tokyo 2026 – 3 hours, 36 minutes
- Berlin 2026 – 3 hours, 15 minutes
Next Stop – New York 2026
On 1 November 2026, Anthony will take on the New York City Marathon, just five weeks after completing the Berlin Marathon.
He will be running in support of an American charity called Camp Shriver.
After seeing Anthony’s history of raising more than £15,000 for children’s charities, Camp Shriver put their trust in him to raise money for their cause and also awarded him one of their places in the 2027 Boston Marathon.
If you would like to follow Anthony on the day, please download the New York Marathon app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store closer to the race date.

Boston Marathon 2027
Boston will be the final stop in Anthony’s journey towards achieving one of his biggest personal goals: completing all six World Marathon Majors and becoming a Six Star Finisher.
Only 1% of the world’s population has ever completed a marathon; however, only around 0.00029% are Six Star Finishers. That equates to approximately 23,295 people out of a global population of 8.1 billion*.
*Figures correct at the time of publication.
If Anthony successfully completes New York and then Boston, he will receive the coveted Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Finisher medal. His personal goal will be achieved and, by that point, we anticipate that he will also have raised more than £25,000 for children’s charities since beginning this journey.
Sponsor Anthony on the Final Leg of His Journey
As mentioned, Anthony will be running his final two races in support of Camp Shriver.
Camp Shriver supports children aged 8–12 from low-income families in the Boston area, both with and without disabilities, by giving them the opportunity to attend inclusive summer camps. These experiences allow children to participate, make friends and enjoy opportunities that their families’ financial circumstances might otherwise prevent them from accessing.
Anthony chose Camp Shriver because he has always actively looked for opportunities to support young people in need.
In the past, he has raised money for charities including Young Lives vs Cancer and Save the Children. This time, he feels very fortunate to have been trusted by Camp Shriver, particularly as the charity had only 10 Boston Marathon places available.
Camp Shriver received hundreds of applications. For Anthony to be invited to interview was recognition in itself of his previous fundraising efforts and commitment to supporting children’s charities. To then be selected for one of just 10 places was a huge honour.

“I always knew the Boston Marathon would be the hardest marathon to get into, and I didn’t expect to get a charity place. That’s one of the reasons I’ve been training so hard to get faster.
Originally, my plan was to get my marathon time down to sub-three hours by the summer of 2027 and then try to qualify for Boston based on my time.
I applied to just three children’s charities that I genuinely felt a connection with, and I was offered a place by two of the three, one of them being Camp Shriver.
I had an interview with Barbara, Camp Shriver’s Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships, and I got really good vibes from both her and the charity. I was very flattered when she said she would consider my application and speak favourably about me to the final decision-makers.
Camp Shriver is very sports-orientated and, as a sporty person myself, I felt it was a great fit for me.
With no disrespect to any other charities, I wouldn’t feel comfortable asking people for donations for a charity that I didn’t personally connect with or believe in.
I had a decision to make: accept the charity place I’d been offered, or keep training, get faster and try to qualify without needing a charity place.
I thought about it for about a minute and chose Camp Shriver!
I’ll still be aiming to bring my marathon time down as well. It feels fitting that I’ve come this far while raising money for children’s charities – so let’s finish it the way I started.
None of this would have been possible without the support I’ve received from everyone so far.
Your donations have made me feel special, wanted and loved. Training for marathons can be very lonely, and then, as race day approaches, you suddenly start to feel the love through messages, voice notes, shout-outs and, of course, your donations.
I know I’ve helped hundreds and hundreds of people throughout my life, particularly through driveJohnson’s, so when I see donations coming in, I see each one as a little thank-you from you, regardless of the amount.
I understand that not everyone will necessarily feel a connection with the charities I choose to support, so for people to still sponsor me means a lot.
Lastly, I certainly wouldn’t be here without the support of my wife, Carla, and my daughter, Freya. They have both been incredibly supportive throughout this journey.
We now also have Imogen, who has just turned one and completed our family. As you can imagine, having a one-year-old makes marathon training even more challenging!
Carla has been amazing in supporting me and making sure I can still get out there, put in the miles and chase this goal.
Two marathons to go.
New York 2026. Boston 2027. Six stars.”
