I had a great experience with learning to drive with Tim. Passing the first time of taking my test with 4 minors, just two months after having had my first ever driving lesson.
Alan is such a lovely instructor he makes you feel confident when driving, he knows how to have a laugh... I had Alan as my instrutor and i past my pratical 1st time thank you so much Alan your a star
Alan was an amazing instructor and helped me pass first time in St Albans with only 1 minor. He is very knowledgeable and has an amazing approach to teaching. He is also someone who is very easy to talk to and is very up to date with test requirements, routes etc. I couldn't recommend him enough.
Really lovely instructor, puts you at ease by being friendly and someone you can have a laugh with. He is always on time and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Alan as a driving instructor.
My partner passed first time with Alan, so when I started learning just months later, it felt natural to go with him too. I initially had my test booked for February 1st as Alan advised, but I changed it to mid January as I wanted to pass quicker. Sure enough, Alan was right as I then ended up re-booking for February 1st and I passed!
Thank you Alan; you're so down to earth, it made learning with you a pleasure. You told me all the right things about where I was going wrong. Once I addressed these, my driving improved immensely. Alan is an amazing driving instructor and I would definitely recommend him! He is very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. Despite having to stop and start lessons throughout the pandemic with different rules he went above and beyond to help me be prepare for my test. Every lesson was fun yet educational and I passed my test at my second attempt.
Alan was wonderful to have as an instructor. Very patient, calm, friendly and encouraging, making sure I was ready for my test. His teaching was absolutely comprehensive and was always enjoyable. During this difficult time of covid I wouldn’t have been able to pass my test without him! I am now a confident and happy driver, all thanks to Alan!

Unit 1 Stirling Court, Stirling Way, Borehamwood WD6 2BTWhen you come out from the test centre to turn right, there will be several parked cars on the left and 2 trees on the right-hand side, which encroach onto the road. Think about the potential hazards as the road becomes very narrow, but remember that you have priority over oncoming vehicles because of trees! Although never assume priority, make sure to check first. Once you have passed the trees on your right hand, you will approach a right-hand blind bend. Approach in second gear, covering the brake and clutch. After passing the right bend, there is an immediate left bend and 2 mini roundabouts (blind on the right). When approaching the mini roundabouts, get into 2nd gear lasting 1 car length, then drop to 1st gear, peeping and creeping (you cannot risk in 2nd).

It's a classic, but many learners think they should offset their mirrors so that they have to move their heads more during the test. You should be able to check your mirrors by moving your eyes, not your head. The examiners are trained to look out for eye checks rather than head movements. Moving your head may cause the examiner to think your mirrors are not set up correctly.

Yes, we have a number of male and female driving instructors in St Albans offering lessons in manual and automatic vehicles. We also have many driving instructors in Luton and other surrounding areas offering lessons in manual and automatic vehicles.
During your driving lessons in St Albans, you will spend more than 90% of your lessons driving around. You will begin by practising on quieter roads and eventually move onto faster roads such as the A414. You will also be shown likely test routes and taken to tricky junctions and roundabouts.
There is a test centre located directly in St Albans. Ideally, this should be where you take your driving test from, as the majority of your driving lessons will have taken place in St Albans so you will be familiar with the roads. However, you may want a test at an earlier date than is available at the St Albans test centre. If this is the case, you can book your test at another test centre nearby, such as Watford or Hemel Hempstead.
We cover many of the surrounding areas of St Albans, including, but not limited to, Hatfield, Hemel Hempstead and Luton. If you're having driving lessons in Hatfield, or driving lessons in Welwyn Garden City, many of your lessons will also take place in St Albans where your nearest test centre is located.
